Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers are a critical part of Seton Home and enable us to provide our services in a way that is life changing.Volunteers are a critical part of Seton Home and enable us to provide our services in a way that is life changing. Each year, the agency is honored to have hundreds of volunteers participate in group projects and a number of faithful volunteers who attend on a regular basis. In an effort to protect our clients, State licensing regulations require Seton Home volunteers to complete several steps before their first day of volunteering.
  1. Tuberculosis (TB) test: You may receive this test at a San Antonio Metropolitan Health District clinic –link to website (http://www.sanantonio.gov/health/TB-Main.html), Texas Med Clinic –link to website (http://www.texasmedclinic.com/main/index.php) or local doctor of your choice. For your convenience, please click here for a listing of all the health clinics in San Antonio. Upon completion of the test, please bring or send (fax: (210-533-3467) a copy of your results to our office for documentation purposes.
  2. Application Packet: Please complete the enclosed forms and return them to our office You may do so by filling out the forms online or by printing the PDF forms, filling them out and mailing them to: Seton Home 1115 Mission Road, San Antonio, TX 78210. These forms will be used for the agency to submit a criminal background check.
  3. Orientation: Finally, all volunteers must complete a volunteer orientation, which includes a tour, a video presentation, and an overview of Seton Home policies and training on your assigned volunteer duties. Childcare, tutors and mentors may require some additional training as well, but this will be ongoing during your volunteer service at Seton Home.

Orientations occur often, and we will make every attempt to schedule around your availability. Once our office has received a completed volunteer packet and a TB test, the volunteer coordinator will contact you to schedule your volunteer orientation.
