| Having the ability to raise a child is a gift from God |

I have been educated on numerous parenting tasks at Seton Home. I have been taught how to care, nurture, and love my daughter. I have also been shown to schedule appointments when needed for my daughter as well as myself, and how to prepare nutritious meals. I have experienced that parenting is not to everyone's ability. Raising a child is not as easy as it's judged. Having the ability and strength to raise a child is a gift from God. I have found that attending school as a single parent and having to work part-time is not an easy job. Parenting has taken a lot of self-denial. As a parent, patience takes a huge part in both of your lives. Patience is needed to help and strengthen your child's abilities. Although parenting can be challenging, the goal is victory in your family's accomplishments.
I have also learned of my own strengths and ambitions through willpower and faith, in believing that I'm not alone. With the help of Seton Home, I have been able to come this far; knowing that fear alone can stop me if I allow it to occur. I am taking my basic education at San Antonio College and plan to go to a university in Texas. My long-term goal is to receive my degree in Bilingual Education, as a Spanish teacher. |
