“A Huge Stepping Stone in My Life” Print E-mail
Growing up, I always told myself that I would never put my child through what I had to go through. My child will not go through these things if it takes every breath out of me. I don't care what it takes, whether its two and three jobs or four and five, she will always be a part of extra-curricular activities, and she always see my face there cheering her on in whatever her choices may be. I will not let the fact that I'm labeled as a teen mom with no path in mind get me down. She will be like any other kid in America. She will have her father and me. She will not be torn between two parents because of personal problems, because I'm better than that, and she deserves the world.

You know all parents make mistakes. And I know I will kick myself for screwing up a time or two, but the difference in my parent's ways and mine is that I won't allow an accident or mistake get in the way of life being lived to the fullest. My life is "now" based around education, family, love and doing right. Not drugs, alcohol, and lies. I am so thankful for every person I've ever met, I'm thankful for all situations I've gone through because it has helped me to be a stronger woman and mother.

Seton Home has also been a huge stepping stone in my life, and my daughter's, because this place has given me time to look at all of these things, reflect and really think about how I'm going to give my angel every thing I never had and to prevent the things my parents couldn't.

So I please ask when you read this, you see someone mature and a mother that is willing to do everything in her power to prevent all that is possible that may be distracting to a "home" and a family.
